General Information

General Information

Postby WarLord on Fri Oct 03, 2008 1:38 pm

This subject will be where General information will be given out to all those participating in the GM Campaign. This will also be where the main packet will be posted so that anyone can review the basic non-army specific rules for the campaign.

Ok, Jason, Ted, Mike, and Kurt. I need you guys to make up a 6 000 point list. Restrictions are as follows;

2 Lord max
- 1 must be declared as the Marshall (or any other appropriate tittle) this is your over all general.

2 Special character limit. If the character isn't in your army book you must have approval from me.
- For approval you must copy and paste their stat line and special rules onto an email and send it to me.

List must be legal in all ways (i.e. minimum core choice, limits followed for special and rare choices.

No restrictions on DoW except for the slot allotments they take up (this includes Ogre Kingdoms)

!!! Once you have the list made up go ahead and break them down into the three differant banner types. Email me the
army lists (not in Army Builder Format) Banner rules as follows;

Standard - Moves one section at a time
Can scout out one section out around them (utilizes full chart)
Must be between 1 000 and 2 250 points

Cavalry - Moves two sections at a time in a streight line
Can scout only one section in the same direction they were traveling in (determined by GM unless otherwise
requested) [utilizes full chart]
Must be between 1 000 and 1 500 points

Scout - Moves one section at a time
Can scout two sections out in all directions (utilizes bottom [better] half of the chart)
Must be between 500 and 850 points

Couple of quick,...and maybe obvious,...questions:

What limitations on composition of Cavalry and Scouting banners? Are you using the other limitations of the original Estragon's Island campaign? In the EI campaign, I believe the cav banners were limited to mounted troops and flyers and scouting banners had some other limitations, (skirmishers/scout/flyer troops only, ...I think..???...etc). Also, does an individual banner have to start by being a LEGAL list per normal army requirements, (a hero/lord to act as general, minimum number of core units, etc), or can a unit champion funciton as a banner's general?

Certainly, any one who is not familiar with the "chart" might want a peek at it, and be familiar with any associate modifiers. Plus, if Kurt, Mike and Jason don't have the other rules, they need to know them, (saving of army points for use during the campaign, etc).

A knowledge of our objectives might be helpful in selecting our 6000 pnt lists. IF I'm searching for something, more scouting banners might be useful...hence greater selection of that troop type,...etc.

If I think of anything else...I'll pester you. :lol:

You actually beat me to what I had intended to do when I got off duty today. Below are additional rules;

Regular banner; No restrictions except for the point value.

Scout banner; Can only contain fast cavalry, skirmish units, and flyers. May also contain one block unit (including H. Cav)
May not contain any war machines (including any weapons on cavalry bases...rattling guns etc)

Cavalry banner; May contain only cavalry, flyers, and skirmishers.

Also, each banner must contain the the minimum number of core troops and can not contain more than the alotted amount of characters. Special and rare restriction choices are lifted for each banner as well as any 0-1 selections.

I will email everyone their objectives but everyone can expect a further email containing other information.

NOTE: Please post questions and comments in the 'Questions' topic. This will help keep information searching easier.

Anything else let me know!

Alright, I've got a nice four day leave coming up soon so I would like to have everyone's army lists in asap. This should give me time to go through the information and have the main package and individual packages ready for when I get over and we can kick off this event.

OK... Work has gone into crazy mode, and I find I have too many irons in the fire. Some things have to be cut, and unfortunately, I think this campaign is going to be one.

Sorry, I really had hoped to play...

I'm really sorry to hear you have to go Mike. But I would hate to have you over burdened with too many things on your plate. It's better this way, I'm sure!
